Getting Started - Finding Friends

Golf is better with friends!

After creating an 18Birdies account, you will have the opportunity to add friends from your phone contact book.

To do so, you will need to grant 18Birdies access to your phone contacts, and from there we’ll find anyone you know that is already using our service. From there, it’s up to you whether or not to send a friend request.

If you don’t want to add any friends during signup, or don’t yet have any phone contacts that are using 18Birdies, you can invite friends to join at a later date. Just follow these steps...

Invite Friends to Join

1. Open the app and tap Community on the bottom menu bar.
2. Tap Add Friends.
3. Tap Contacts.

Here, you can add friends already using our app, or invite anyone in your phone contact book by sending an SMS or email.

When you share your contact book with 18Birdies, we will store your contacts on our secure servers. Then, each time you log into the app, we will scan your contacts to see if anyone you know has joined the app. 

When we detect this, we can make a recommendation (in your Feed, within the Community tab, or via email) and you can easily connect!

At 18Birdies, your privacy is of paramount importance. We will never send a friend request on your behalf without your permission, and will never use your private data for anything other than making recommendations and tailoring your app experience.
